Documentary

During the 1990’s, the pop music scene in Britain went through a sea change which, in some ways, harked back to the swinging 60’s. The bywords of the era were once again « optimism » and « pride in being British » . The mid 90’s were thus finally to become known as « the Britpop years ».

And, just as had been the case three decades earlier when the Beatles and the Rolling Stones had sought chart supremacy, so in the 90’s two groups, one from the south, Blur, and one from the north, Oasis, went head to head in a battle to become the biggest pop group of their times as well as the voice of a generation.
